One of our favorite business tools out there is the follow up marketing tool from Aweber. They offer auto responders – which are automated email messages, which you can configure to send messages to your customers any number of times, and any number of days, after their initial signup. This is a tremendous marketing tool that gets overlooked from many businesses because they may not realize the technology exists.
Pros: I've been using Aweber since the very beginning of my online business about 7-8 years ago. It integrates well with other services to make an automated flow of things. I love the segmentation I can do. Just the overall ease of using it. Oh, and their customer service is INCREDIBLE. Probably one of my favorite features. There is someone live to chat with within seconds to help you. Incredible support, no waiting.
Okay, now if you want a success page which is not necessarily required but if you want a page that you sent people to after they confirm that banks them or give some the report that they may have signed up for, you can put the URL here. But that’s not necessarily something you have to do. I’m going to click on save settings. Once you’ve done that your list is actually all set up and now it’s time to create your autoresponder sequence.

Overall: Capterra was a completely foreign name to me until I did extensive research on the products, philosophy and services offered. There are more than four hundred software programs, this was the big statement that really drew me in to learn more. Whether you run a non profit, or a church, or a restaurant the software program list is endless and accesible. I'm sure if you had a lemonade stand you would be able to find the product you needed. Navigating the site is easy as well and they don't try to push other products onto you. The customer service is amazing as well and really focuses on customer satisfaction which in turn makes people repeat customers and word of mouth starts spreading so more people can learn about the company. When you’re getting started, you’ll need to import your email subscriber list into your chosen service. Aweber has made this easy, by allowing you to import from a variety of spreadsheets or text formats, or even copy-pasting the emails from another app. You can then map the contact information with Aweber’s list fields, and specify where each subscriber is for so you can send the subscription confirmation email to the relevant ones.
Anna, I really appreciate your Aweber review. I wish I could say my experience has been the same. I find it hard to navigate and even harder to understand. I dread the thought of having to login to my account to do anything. I would really like to see more video’s and tutorials, especially on list building., and why can’t I just email my contacts the old way using aweber? Accounts are in default if payment is not received within 20 days after date of invoice. If a subscriber's check is returned by the bank as unredeemable, the subscriber will be deemed to be in default, and will be liable for a "returned check" charge of $25. Accounts unpaid 20 days after date of invoice may have their service interrupted. Such interruption does not relieve the subscriber from the obligation to pay the monthly charge. Only a written request to terminate your service relieves you of your obligation to pay the monthly account charge. Accounts in default are subject to a late payment charge of $25 and an interest charge of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance. If the subscriber's state law does not allow an interest rate of 1.5% per month, the maximum allowable rate for the subscriber's state will be charged. If the subscriber defaults, the subscriber agrees to pay AWeber Systems its reasonable expenses, including attorney and collection agency fees, incurred in enforcing its rights under these Terms and Conditions.
AWeber treats emails a little differently from other services. There are different processes for creating Follow-up Series, which are essentially the auto-responders mentioned above, Broadcast messages, and Blog Broadcasts. Follow-up emails are sent automatically every time a new user is added, and Broadcast messages are one-time messages, such as newsletters. Blog Broadcast grabs posts from a blog and compiles them into a newsletter form. You can also create your own mail templates using the Email Template Manager, where you can customize existing templates or write your own using AWeber's API.
Speaking of emails, AWeber's great at that too—as you’d expect. It includes hundreds of templates you can use for your emails, along with thousands of stock photos to make your emails look great and a newly redesigned drag-and-drop email editor to design messages. You can have AWeber send your emails at the best possible time for your contacts to notice and open them, segment your users based on what they’ve done with your emails, and more.

Creating our test email worked fairly well. AWeber provides several design templates that were useful and adjustable, however it took more actions to edit it than it did with other online marketing software application. Also, the cursor track was very delicate, including further frustration to the production procedure. This was the only newsletter production program we evaluated with this issue.

It’s quite the opposite so, if you can get somebody to actually give them their email address, and say, “I give you permission to send me that really cool e-book, or that really cool checklist, or that really cool thing that you have, and then you can continue to send email, and I will read it, and I will enjoy it.” That’s a really great opportunity that I think a lot of marketers don’t take full advantage of. I think a lot of marketers really rely on the push, the Facebook ads, the blog content, the podcasts. I love all that stuff, and I do all that stuff too, but I think there’s something intimate, something special about creating a really strong bond between the emailer and the email reader, and I think the marketers who crack that code, really see a lot of success.
I did not get many benefits and had a bad experience overall - i no longer care this happened months ago I am over it but since I am writing a review on software i have used, I would advise all honestly to stay away as my story seems far from unique and had other bad experiences which i don't have time to list - MailChimp is a pretty good alternative if you are checking out ESPs
**A couple of things to consider are that they do not have a reseller program. If you want to use it for multiple clients, you'll need to run everything out of your account and separate it by lists. Also their mobile app isn't much help. You'll be running everything through the web interface. Finally, you should have a working knowledge of html coding if you're going to use it. You don't have to code to use it, but if you want to tweak the look and feel of it like a designer, you'll need to code to dial in what you want.
