Customer support is also a huge highlight for AWeber. The company deploys a team of email marketing professionals who are highly knowledgeable, responsive, and effective. For those who are new to email marketing, AWeber offers regular live webinars for added instruction and training. Access to data and reports also gives you the insight you need to make better decisions, devise and implement better strategies, and achieve success.
Now underneath the subject line is the actual body of your e-mail and by default Aweber gives you the sort of plain e-mail template and actually this is the template that most Internet marketers and e-mail marketers recommend. This is the one that I use because it’s the template that’s easiest to read on the most amount of browsers. Now if you want something a little more fancy than what they give you here, click on the blue templates button.
And then under global text snippets this is more an advanced feature and if you’re going to be making a lot of changes to something from your business like if you have different hours or different offers, this is something you might want to incorporate. But if you’re just going to have a basic autoresponder sequence with helpful information, this isn’t something that you want to do. Then click on save settings…
Pros: What I like most about Aweber the analytics that the application offers. Compared to other email marketing software in the market, Aweber offers the most specific options in terms of targeting people around the emails they get. For example, Aweber if you send out an email with a particular offer and someone opens it but doesn't click the offer, you are able to know this and decide on the next action to take to convince them to check out your offer.
The primary weak point I see is the price-point where small business are worried. If you do not require all of AWeber’s bells and whistles, there’s no need to pay for them. You’ll also want to make sure that if you are attempting to cancel your account, you’re not just unintentionally suspending it. This is specifically essential where the totally free trial is worried, as AWeber requires your credit card information.
Cons: I've heard that if you open a new account with Aweber now, you need to use their service for around a month using double optin, which could be annoying. When I set my account up several years ago, I didn't have to do that. So if you're planning on running paid ads etc right away, that might be an issue for you. If not, Aweber is awesome and i'm sure you'll love it.
What AWeber has done especially well is develop a reputation of providing excellent support – while some users like nothing more than experimenting so they intuitively can try to make sense of everything on their own pace or customize like crazy, others appreciate the ability to receive help anytime from a real human through email, phone or live chat – especially if they’re hopelessly mired trying to send a message out to thousands of customers/prospects. (There’s also an online Knowledge Base plus a moderated official Facebook forum.)
It's also expanded its auto-responder options. A feature called Legacy Followup Messages enables you to send a series of messages to all new subscribers. Another feature called Campaigns (currently in beta) offers several ways to send auto-responders: by day and time, and also based on subscriber behavior or if you tag contacts in your database. You can also pause and stop auto-responders at any time. Campaign tracking lets you see how far your subscribers are in your follow up series of emails/campaigns and which caused the most unsubscribes, so you can tweak them as needed.
You can also segment your lists based upon subscriber activity like emails opened, links clicked, and more. Plus, you can use traditional segmentation options as well, like gender, age, birthdays, and more. For large blogs covering a variety of topics, it may make sense to let subscribers sign up for updates based on the topic(s) they’re most interested in.
So, I’m very transparent when I tell people as well that, we don’t don’t have a landing page service. We don’t create landing pages because that’s not our focus. Our focus is just email. We are focused on giving you the best tools and resources to send amazing, beautiful email automated or one time broadcasts, and we integrate with 50 fantastic landing page providers, who will do it better than we will do it anyways. I think that you’ll get transparency, you’ll get a company that focuses on doing what we do really, really well, and not trying to bolt on or do too, too much outside of that, customer service is fantastic. We have live customer service outside of Philly. Everyone here is in the same office, so we talk together, we hang out, they know our product really, really well, the marketers here know our product really, really well, and then education.
At the same time, AWeber is a well integrated system that blends easily in every software ecosystem. You can use it seamlessly with platforms such as Cyfe, Launch Effect, Drupal, WordPress, Raven, Unbounce, Magento, and many more. The system is reasonably priced, to say at least, and therefore accessible to companies with smaller and larger number of subscribers. Plans start from $19 per month for 500 subscribers, and move to $149 for 10,000 of them. Teams with more than 25,000 subscribers should contact the company to obtain a special quote.
The best part about using aweber is it’s ease of use and ability to link with many other programs. They make it easy to keep track of your customers as well as automate a sequence of emails. I was able to get my investment in Aweber back within a couple months of using it. This may take more or less time depending on how big of a following your business has already.
Nice money savers you mentioned here. But I’d like to mention, be careful when mass deleting the actively subscribed undeliverable. This search field is a bit flawed. I found my own test addressees in this search result when I searched my own aweber subscriber base. Apparently, if there has ever been an undeliverable email (which was the case when my web-host crashed my site in a routine update), said email address will show up in the search results. Make sure you click on each actively subscribed email address before you delete, and it will show whether the “undeliverable” was an isolated incident or a recurring phenomenon with said subscriber. My two cents and good faith attempt ad being earning my keep for a backlink:)
I REALLY wish they would improve the place where you compose the emails. I know that MAJOR email marketers have requested they change it / made suggestions but they do nothing. It should be easy to cut and paste text written in another document and keep the formatting but it's not. I constantly have to go through my emails and do hard returns on each line to get the spacing correct. If you want to have a big margin on the side of your text (meaning about a 3 inch text area), it should be easy to do that. Overall, composing an email in there should be easier. I stick with them because it's an even bigger hassle to switch to someone else. How hard is it really to fix these things?
I remember these guys from over 10 years ago when I started as a freelance web developer. They have always had their finger on the pulse of online marketing and understand, almost better than any other competitor out there, how to convert leads and continue to deliver a sales message properly. You can learn a lot from this company and gain more knowledge from their blog and knowledge base articles than you can from most websites that discuss e-commerce.

It has a few usability issues which detract unnecessarily from an otherwise great product. For example, it's unnecessarily difficult to change the list assigned to a message. Images have to be added to messages using a URL rather than a simple upload. And there's no delay once the "send" button is hit, so it's impossible to "unsend" any messages with mistakes.

Cons: Stay away! Their RSS campaign did not send out for a while and then on its own sent out 6 emails at once really pissing off our readers they offered us a discount of 30% if we signed a two year contract after I said it was an inexcusable mistake which cost me hundreds of dollars in unsubscribes and possibly thousands and pissed off my entire email list. 30% off their inflated high price which they had just boosted was not worth it - i have heard many experts and users tell me of Aweber nightmare stories since my experience. I would recommend mailchimp as an option for basic users, i would advice all to stay away from Aweber
I've tried various email services multiple times, but I feel the most drawn to Aweber. I like the ease of their email editor. I also like how easy it is to change the order of my legacy follow-up series by simply dragging & dropping the emails in whatever order I wish on the fly. Yes, Aweber is a little more expensive than some other platforms, but I'd rather pay a bit more for something that fits my needs than to be irritated all the time.
GetApp’s ranking highlights the top 25 apps in different categories on GetApp. If an app is listed in more than one category, it has the potential to be ranked in each of these categories. The ranking is independent of any commercial campaign an app vendor has with GetApp. The ranking is based on 5 data points, each scored out of 20: reviews, integrations, mobile apps, media presence, and security.

This is not an AWeber-specific issue, these changes impact anyone using an email service provider with a sender address from Gmail, Yahoo!, AOL, Zendesk, rocketmail.com, and ymail.com. So if you use ANY third-party mailing service (such as AWeber or any of our competitors) to send emails for you on behalf they will also need to change the "From" address you send with or your emails will not be delivered.
What is so important about API’s? Well, if you ever go to sell a product/service…EVERYTHING. If you sell a product, it is so much easier to use a system which automatically adds the people to an email list, without them having to re-enter their name/email to be able to proceed. You usually see this with a “Step 2 of completing Your Order” page and it has an optin form.
George: So that folks, is super smart. So, Tom, it’s amazing. This interview flew by man. Great answers. Like, we’re just clipping away. Here’s my thing. If people want to learn more about you, if they want to learn more about AWeber, and by the way, thanks for taking the time to do this, where can we send them? Where do you want to have them go for you, for AWeber, for whatever interesting things that you might want to share?
Send time optimisation is a sophisticated feature which automatically sends your e-newsletter at the time at which it is most likely to be opened. This time is calculated by Mailchimp based on looking at when the subscribers on your list have previously opened mail - it can work this out based on looking at the campaigns you’ve previously sent and also by using data from campaigns sent by other Mailchimp users which feature email addresses that are also present on your list.
So the second one he might put three days later and then as you add more e-mail make them eight or even two weeks later. Okay? And understand window if you want to send them between certain dates for times to increase your open rate, you can do that. So slide this to on and then you can choose only send them on Mondays or Tuesdays between a certain time. And the reason that works really well is because people are more likely to check your e-mail at certain times.
AWeber currently boasts one of the largest sets of email newsletter templates out there, with over 700 different templates to choose from. Some of the design choices look dated, but with the vast selection, you’ll be able to find something that works for you. The templates are drag-and-drop, so you’ll be able to easily add or remove templates elements to your liking.
When you are ready to take advantage of email automation, and take advantage of some of the segmentation tools that AWeber has, then I think it’s definitely a great opportunity to pay that $19 a month, and to get into what some of those can offer, to help you monetize your hobby, or monetize your passion, or monetize the beginnings of your business. So I’d say that’s who we’re not for. We are also not for you know, if you are looking for an enterprise CRM or enterprise marketing automation suite, something that can handle billions and billions of subscribers, and multiple automation triggers and flows, and these complex funnels that people like to build, those tool sets tend to quickly get a little confusing to the average marketer, who isn’t ready for that.
When I talked about this with their support they suggested that if I wanted co-registration they can setup for me and all I needed to do was to fire an email to AWeber co-registration system for each user who register at my website with the details of the user. AWeber would have a custom parser for the email and add the user to my list automatically.

Once you've sent your broadcast, you can track its success through the Reporting tool. For each campaign, you can see the open and click rate as well as the number of replies and unsubscribes. There's no Google Analytics integration, but there is a very helpful step-by-step guide on how to use Google Analytics on a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) basis with AWeber.

Tom: Yeah, absolutely. So, I’m not gonna list all of our competitors. I think most people know who the most popular email service provers are out there. A few of them have been around as long as we have been, right? So, I think most people will know who those competitors are so, I’m not gonna dump a bunch of names. What you mentioned earlier, I thought was a good point, is that some email service providers that you’ve might have just begun using, they were practically created yesterday so, this is a very competitive space where there are new players popping up, it seems almost every six months. Also, a lot of tools that you might use, they bolt on an email component so, there’ll be a tool that provides this feature or functionality and then they’ll say, “Oh by the way, we’re gonna start doing email so you can use our tool to send emails as well.” Even WordPress, there are WordPress plugins that let you basically do some form of email marketing using your WordPress host. Like, whatever you’re using to host with WordPress. All of those solutions have pros and cons. What I would recommend when evaluating AWeber, what you’re gonna get is, somebody who is fully dedicated to just email.

AWeber is an email marketing software that allows small business owners to easily create and send email campaigns to their customers. Its features include email tracking, newsletters, automation, mobile apps, and more. We compiled AWeber user reviews from our website and around the web and determined that it has generally positive ratings. We also shared its available pricing options.
When you go with AWeber, you get the complete email managerial package. Simply, opt-in forms are available to embed in your website, which AWeber used to collect subscriber details. You can send out fully customizable emails manually or on an automated schedule. AWeber further allows you to segment your subscriber list down by subscriber behavior and even target content, allowing you to choose who gets what, and when. Tailoring your content to fit your subscribers is basically a gauranteed way to increase your views and subscriber base and conversion rates.AWeber provides a simple interface which is easy to manage, and they also provide a large array of tutorials to help make the learning process a bit easier. The templates they provide are also of grat value as well. Tracking subscriber behavior and data is a huge bonus to help improve your conversions. A free 30-day trial is always a huge bonus as well.

George: Hey ladies and gentlemen, it’s George B. Thomas here, and you know what I’m about to say. Yep, I’m excited because it’s time for another episode of One Last Tool. One Last Tool viewers and listeners, this one’s gonna be good because we’re gonna talk about all things nerdy, all things webby, all things a-er. Anyway, maybe you’ll put it together. But, I’m sure, once you see who we have today … hey, why don’t you go ahead, let’s get out of suspense mode, and explain to the listeners and viewers, Tom, who you are, what you do, and who you do it for?
AWeber is great for crafting monthly newsletter and deal updates for small businesses. We have an amazing graphics department that creates all the images for us marketers so that all we have to do is drag and drop the pieces in. We also have created text emails from scratch as well as having AWeber create a custom template for us. All of this has helped our customers get their message across to their userbase.
Marketer’s Choice (aka 1ShoppingCart.com) – this one is actually a great choice. However, it’s not a simple email autoresponder; it comes with a bunch of bells and whistles you probably don’t need just yet. Things like shopping cart, merchant account, affiliate platform, etc. For now, I suggest we stick with simple list building through an email autoresponder, shall we?
Copying and pasting contact information from one platform to another is a waste of precious resources. By connecting AWeber with Zapier, you can automatically add subscribers to your email list—no matter where you get their information from. You can also organize contact information any way you like by exporting new AWeber subscribers to your favorite database.
