There are two questions, and I don’t want to take a break in between them. I’m just gonna give you the two questions and then you roll with it. We’re gonna be like Top Gun Maverick and Goose, we’re gonna be high-fiving because we’re gonna win the game here. That’s simply this, “When you look at the space, who is AWeber’s competitors?”, and then the spike for you is, “What in the world makes AWeber better than them?”
For example, say you're a Volkswagen dealer with a mailing list containing a field called 'car model.' You've used field this to segment your mailing list neatly into the owners of VW Polos, Golfs, Passats, Tiguans etc. You have a special offer which is relevant to Polo and Golf owners, and you want to send this message to those two segments in one go.
AWeber offers month-to-month, quarterly, and annual plans for each of its tiers. The least-expensive plan, for up to 500 contacts, is $19 per month (or $49 per quarter or $149 per year). AWeber adds $10 to the normal rate to expand the service to 2,500 users and adds $30 to increase the capacity to 5,000 users. AWeber also automatically sets you up for automatic billing. If you change your mind, the company offers a 30-day full refund.
We like that AWeber only has one price plan that changes based on the amount of subscribers. It makes it easy to pick the right one straight away, without having to check a long table to compare different offers with varying features. But unfortunately, AWeber isn’t our favourite email marketing solution, ranking rather low in our own table. Their features underwhelmed us, and the user experience is passable at best. Still, if your mind is set on this company, here is their offer:

AWeber provides you with a handy list of pre-approved subject lines that have been shown to perform well. Our recommendation is to use the option that includes your subscriber’s first name, since personalization is always a nice touch:
Marketing automation works in a similar way to autoresponders, in that emails are automatically sent to a mailing list according to a predefined sequence. But instead of time intervals, user behaviour is used to determine what should emails should be sent next - opens, clicks, goal completions, purchases, abandoned carts and more can all be used to trigger the next e-newsletter. 

Once you've sent your broadcast, you can track its success through the Reporting tool. For each campaign, you can see the open and click rate as well as the number of replies and unsubscribes. There's no Google Analytics integration, but there is a very helpful step-by-step guide on how to use Google Analytics on a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) basis with AWeber.
It's also expanded its auto-responder options. A feature called Legacy Followup Messages enables you to send a series of messages to all new subscribers. Another feature called Campaigns (currently in beta) offers several ways to send auto-responders: by day and time, and also based on subscriber behavior or if you tag contacts in your database. You can also pause and stop auto-responders at any time. Campaign tracking lets you see how far your subscribers are in your follow up series of emails/campaigns and which caused the most unsubscribes, so you can tweak them as needed.
So, the automated email campaigns is a big part of it, but then, of course, you can send your one-time email broadcasts. So, one-time email newsletters, some people do that weekly, monthly, whatever cadence you prefer. Some people do it daily, to be honest. So, you can use AWeber, both as your automated email platform, and then also your one-time email sending platform as well. We have a couple mobile apps, that help support all of those functions. We also have web forms that you can create, put on your site to get subscribers, and a ton of integrations. So, if you want to integrate with your landing page provider, like an Unbounce, you can do that easily.
Using Aweber, you can create ‘goals’ or combine automation rules with tagging to make autoresponders behave in quite funky ways...but if you want to make use of autoresponders in really advanced ways, you'll probably need to look at other products, particularly Getresponse, which provides 'marketing automation' functionality that hooks up to a built-in CRM.
