So, we occupy this really beautiful sweet spot, of people who know exactly what they need to do with their email marketing, they’re either just getting started or they’ve gotten started, and they began to grow their list. So, we’re that nice sweet spot between free hobbyist email platform, and then super sophisticated, complex enterprise platform.
The best part about using aweber is it's relieve of use and ability to hyperlink numerous other programs. Earning it easy to maintain of your customers as well as automate a sequence of email messages. I was able to get my investment in Aweber back inside a few months of using it. This may take more or less time based about how big of the following your business has already.
Overall: I've tried various email services multiple times, but I feel the most drawn to Aweber. I like the ease of their email editor. I also like how easy it is to change the order of my legacy follow-up series by simply dragging & dropping the emails in whatever order I wish on the fly. Yes, Aweber is a little more expensive than some other platforms, but I'd rather pay a bit more for something that fits my needs than to be irritated all the time.
There is usually a free trial available to try Aweber. Aweber also plays nicely with WordPress and hundreds of other integrations.I've been using Aweber for close to 10 years on and off. I've tried other similar programs such as Mail Chimp and Infusionsoft, but have always come back to Aweber as my autoresponder of choice. I know some of this may have to do with the fact that I learned their system first, but I also think they have a very simple interface and the layout seems logical to me.
Tom: Yeah, totally. So, if you’re brand new to email marketing, or if you’ve begun to grow your email list using another email service provider, it’s really quite simple. You’ll use AWeber to manage your subscribers, manage your contacts. You can set up multiple lists to manage those subscribers, or you can have one list, and use what we call, “tags”, which I’m sure a lot of people are familiar with, to manage subscribers and preferences, based on tags. So, you have a bit of option there. First and foremost, it’s collecting and managing subscribers, but then, you can also leverage our core toolset, which is basically the autoresponder, or the automated email campaign sequence, you can develop campaigns, that’s what we call them here, to send automated emails out to those subscribers. Either fired off of tags, so they can trigger off of tags, they can trigger off of just the new subscriber being added to your list.
AWeber Communications, Inc. designs opt-in email marketing software for entrepreneurs and businesses worldwide. It was founded in 1998 by Tom Kulzer after he identified a gap in automated response software for customer support and sales leads. Tom capitalized on that opportunity by creating an “autoresponder software”, which is now popular as AWeber. Since then, AWeber has expanded into a team focused on helping more than 100,000 businesses achieve success with email.
This is not an AWeber-specific issue, these changes impact anyone using an email service provider with a sender address from Gmail, Yahoo!, AOL, Zendesk, rocketmail.com, and ymail.com. So if you use ANY third-party mailing service (such as AWeber or any of our competitors) to send emails for you on behalf they will also need to change the "From" address you send with or your emails will not be delivered.
Tom: So, I think you’ll definitely agree in your experience, that if you’re not emailing your fans, your subscribers and your customers, and your prospects, you’re just leaving so much on the table. So much opportunity, so much money on the table. I think that basically the problem that AWeber solves is really the problem that email solves. Which is, providing you with a way to … Our Director of Products says this, and I think it’s a really great phrase, “Email is intimacy at scale.”, because, I think if someone is going to give you permission, give you the privilege to send email to them, and to be in their inbox, because nobody wakes up in the morning and says, “I can’t wait to receive more email today.”
Having used Aweber for a few different reasons (online training program delivery, marketing funnel, client newsletter and updates) it has definitely been my go to software for email marketing. It is competitively priced and the functionality you get for the cost is great. I would suggest spending a period of time familiarizing yourself with (or watching Youtube demos) and testing the software though before adding in real clients.

When your list goes above 2000, and you decide to move to another AR service, you will get an unpleasant surprise. Mailing lists are not directly transferable from one AR service to another. You basically have to start over, and get all of your subscribers to re-subscribe. That process will guarantee the loss of at least half of your list, and probably much more than half. If you are thinking about moving, the time is NOW, because the larger your list gets, the more painful the move will be.
