Aweber believes in the importance of making sure you confirm the intent of your subscriber before they are added to your list. You can rest assured that you will have a higher quality of subscriber because they take the time to read their email confirmation message and click on a special link that activates their subscription. This way, if they are added to your list it is because they were serious about joining in the first place – instead of just being added to one of your lists by selecting a checkbox and paying little mind to it (as is the case with many web sites).
Mailchimp is better if you’re just starting out, and looking to setup an email list without committing a budget to it. They focus more on user-friendly designs and options, so apart from their sign-up form HTML requirement you don’t need to be tech-savvy to get started with the service. Mailchimp also offers multiple integrations, so you can import contacts in from different services. However, the service is probably not a good option if you have any plans of including affiliate links in your email marketing.

AWeber treats emails a little differently from other services. There are different processes for creating Follow-up Series, which are essentially the auto-responders mentioned above, Broadcast messages, and Blog Broadcasts. Follow-up emails are sent automatically every time a new user is added, and Broadcast messages are one-time messages, such as newsletters. Blog Broadcast grabs posts from a blog and compiles them into a newsletter form. You can also create your own mail templates using the Email Template Manager, where you can customize existing templates or write your own using AWeber's API.
Marketer’s Choice (aka 1ShoppingCart.com) – this one is actually a great choice. However, it’s not a simple email autoresponder; it comes with a bunch of bells and whistles you probably don’t need just yet. Things like shopping cart, merchant account, affiliate platform, etc. For now, I suggest we stick with simple list building through an email autoresponder, shall we?

Thanks for the recommendation Ana. Once again your blog is helping to focus on what is needed to do to increase traffic & sales. Yes, I need to focus more on the information that we send out to our subscribers and I will take a look at Aweber! I’d be interested to hear, however, how often do you think is appropriate to send newsletters to your list?

I've used quite a few other email platforms for mass emails and I have found that AWeber doesn't offer as much customization with creating emails. I like to create my own format for emails, and it's a little more difficult in AWeber than some other platforms. It's more of a basic service. I also am not impressed with the home page for the sole reason of not having the key things that I like to see when I first get to a landing page. This is more of a personal preference.
In the negative points I had mentioned that AWeber is not cheap but you can use this to your advantage. Now many Email Autoresponder’s charge based on how many emails you send per month but AWeber charges based on the number of subscribers. So if you send updates weekly or biweekly it will not prove costly at all but in fact it will be cheaper than those who charge on a per email delivery basis.

ActiveCampaign lets you easily create eye catching email campaigns to help you stay in touch with your contacts and customers. Their visual campaign builder lets you easily create automated marketing campaigns and send out targeted emails to your potential customers based on their personal interactions with your business and their integrated CRM lets you keep track of your leads and close more deals to grow your business.

AWeber is one of the most popular email marketing services available, and it’s easy to see why. The tool packs in a plethora of powerful features, such as an intuitive drag-and-drop editor and a reliable autoresponder. It’s the latter we’ll focus on today, as it can be used to run your marketing campaigns without lifting a finger (aside from the initial setup process).

System accounts can not be transferred or used by anyone other than the subscriber. But generally I just leave it pretty much like this and you can choose one of the pre-approved subjects that they give you which is basically different variations of confirm your subscription. Or you can create a custom one and you have to wait a day or so for Aweber to approve it and then you can just say something like this, we received your request, thank you just have to confirm an order to receive. Once you’ve done that click on save settings.
People share their opinions about companies on Twitter each and every day. The best part about using aweber is it’s ease of use and ability to link with many other programs. They make it easy to keep track of your customers as well as automate a sequence of emails. I was able to get my investment in Aweber back within a couple months of using it. This may take more or less time depending on how big of a following your business has already.
By default, each AWeber follow up email is configured to go out one day after the previous one. You can tweak these setting to something more reasonable, such as a weekly email blast. In addition, you can also configure a specific ‘send window’ for your messages by clicking the Edit button. Using these settings, you can disable specific days so they don’t count – Sundays, for example – and you can indicate a window of time for your messages to go out. Some windows of time are better than others to maximize your open rates, so do a bit of research and set yours accordingly:

Copying and pasting contact information from one platform to another is a waste of precious resources. By connecting AWeber with Zapier, you can automatically add subscribers to your email list—no matter where you get their information from. You can also organize contact information any way you like by exporting new AWeber subscribers to your favorite database.
