This is among the couple of newsletter creators that Aweber demoused complimentary images, a terrific tool for dressing up your e-mail without spending for stock images. However, we were not pleased with the image-editing tool. We could add our own images quickly enough, however when we resized an image using the AWeber tool, it blurred the image, and the blurred image showed up in all of our sent messages. Aside from these problems, however, email personalization and the editing function worked well.
For me, an obvious alternative to both Mailchimp and Aweber is Getresponse. Depending on your list size, it will usually come in cheaper than both Mailchimp and Aweber (particularly if you pay upfront for a year or two years), and it’s feature packed (offering landing pages, webinars and a CRM tool in addition to the features outlined above). And it is much more flexible than either Mailchimp or Aweber when it comes to emailing segmented data and managing multiple lists.
When you are ready to take advantage of email automation, and take advantage of some of the segmentation tools that AWeber has, then I think it’s definitely a great opportunity to pay that $19 a month, and to get into what some of those can offer, to help you monetize your hobby, or monetize your passion, or monetize the beginnings of your business. So I’d say that’s who we’re not for. We are also not for you know, if you are looking for an enterprise CRM or enterprise marketing automation suite, something that can handle billions and billions of subscribers, and multiple automation triggers and flows, and these complex funnels that people like to build, those tool sets tend to quickly get a little confusing to the average marketer, who isn’t ready for that.
Okay, something like that and you can give it a little description like Quicksprout newsletter. So then when people are about to unsubscribe it has a little description and maybe it’ll entice them to actually not unsubscribe when they remember what it is. And then from your address and your contact you want to make sure that’s all accurate and then a few want to receive notifications every time someone signs up, you can put your name and e-mail and you’ll be notified but if you plan a really big list you definitely don’t want this feature because you’re just be notified like multiple times a day. Then click on save settings and that will take you to step number two which is where you can brand your e-mails.

So once it’s all set up, hover over messages and click on follow-up series. Next click on the create your first follow-up button and when you do you’ll be taken to the Aweber message editor and now going to walk you through the most important part of the editor and how to use them. It’s really just pricing based on a number of subscribers that you send to monthly. Then, we also have a quarterly and annual, where you can take a little bit of a discount off, if you prepay in advance. But, I really appreciate that customer service, the suite of automation tools, that’s all covered. So, whether you’re paying $19 a month or $149 a month, it’s really gonna be included. You’re gonna have access to all those tools.
Both Aweber and Getresponse have almost the same pricing structure if you closely analyze their pricing. You can get a lot of subscribers before you actually have to jump in heavily on the cost. But when it comes down to it, Getresponse pricing is lesser between Aweber vs. Getresponse. Aweber offers unlimited image hosting where Getresponse offers up to 1GB storage and you have to upgrade for additional storage.
I've heard that if you open a new account with Aweber now, you need to use their service for around a month using double optin, which could be annoying. When I set my account up several years ago, I didn't have to do that. So if you're planning on running paid ads etc right away, that might be an issue for you. If not, Aweber is awesome and i'm sure you'll love it.
AWeber is all about hand-holding. There are numerous video tutorials to help you figure out what to do, and almost every field or option to fill out has a link that opens up the relevant help text. Unfortunately, live help is very limited. Phone and chat support options are only available during business hours. If you want the option to call at any time, you'll want to choose a service other than AWeber. Campaigner, for example, offers 24/7 phone support.

So, the automated email campaigns is a big part of it, but then, of course, you can send your one-time email broadcasts. So, one-time email newsletters, some people do that weekly, monthly, whatever cadence you prefer. Some people do it daily, to be honest. So, you can use AWeber, both as your automated email platform, and then also your one-time email sending platform as well. We have a couple mobile apps, that help support all of those functions. We also have web forms that you can create, put on your site to get subscribers, and a ton of integrations. So, if you want to integrate with your landing page provider, like an Unbounce, you can do that easily.
Aweber designs their system where everything starts with a list. You create a list and name it, and this is what all of your email campaigns will go into for each particular list. Think of the list as your file folder. It helps you stay organized for you to have multiple lists and campaigns going at once. All of your opt in traffic and new subscribers will always fall into your list. When you do your other software integrations with Aweber, you will always be choosing a list to connect that software to Aweber with.
